Video 1 - “Creating a Technician Machine” - Learn how to create a special machine that will run all of your deployment tools, from the Business Desktop Deployment Toolkit (BDD 2007) to the Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK). This nugget covers how to plan for using the deployment tools.Video 2 - “Installing the Windows Automated Installation Kit” - the WAIK is the only required component of the BDD and there is a good reason — every BDD deployment uses the WAIK tools. In this nugget I’ll show you how to create and customize a Windows Pre-installation Environment, and why you would want to.
Video 3 - “Using Imagex” - There is more than meets the eye when it comes to the Imagex utility. Most people have used this tool to mount and un-mount images, but there is a lot more that it can do. In this nugget I will walk you through every available switch, explain when to use the switches and why.
Video 4 - “Windows Deployment Service Part (WDS) 1″ - this the first nugget in a two part set. In this nugget I will explain how to install WDS based on your OS and SP levels, how to configure WDS and get it up and running.
Video 5 - “Windows Deployment Service Part (WDS) 2″ - this is the second piece of the WDS nugget. In this nugget I’ll show you some of the more advanced features of WDS such as multiple boot and install images along with capturing an image using WDS.
Video 6 - “Windows System Image Manager (WSIM)” - In this nugget I’ll explain how to create a basic unattended answer file for installing Vista or Server 2008 machines. There is quite a learning curve when it comes to using this tool. WSIM is the replacement to the old Setup Manager but it can do so much more than Setup Manager ever dreamed of. This is a vastly complicated tool that becomes incredibly easy when someone gives you crib notes on how to use it.
Video 7 - “Solution Accelerator Business Desktop Deployment Kit” - In this nugget I’ll show you how to deploy Windows Vista using the BDD.
Video 8 - “User State Migration Tools (USMT)” - in this nugget I’ll cover installing, configuring, using and troubleshooting USMT and it’s accompanying files.
Video 9 - “Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT)” - This nugget covers installing and configuring ACT 5.0 along with diving deep into the reporting functionality and compatibility evaluators.
Video 10 - “Zero Touch Installations of Vista” - this nugget covers planning, installing, configuring and troubleshooting Zero Touch Installations of Vista performed by using System Management Server 2003 and the Operating System Deployment Feature Pack.
Video 11 - “Offline Servicing” - this nugget explains how to service an image offline by injecting drivers, installing drivers and patches using peimg and pkgmgr. OCSetup is also covered.
Video 12 - “Microsoft Office” - this nugget covers the new Office file format, Office Compatibility Tools, Office Migration Planning Manager, File Scanning, Office File Conversion, Office Customization of how and which components of Office are installed and the Version Extraction Tool.
Video 13 - “Installing Office” - This nugget covers preparing to install Office, creating a network installation location and explaining what and how to set up a local installation source. I also cover all the switches you can use with Office’s setup.exe, a little more detailed information about the Office Customization Tool (actual demo on this) and the Office Diagnostic Tool.
