WarDriving : A Wireless Hacking Technique
The practice of discovering & mapping the Wi-Fi networks available in a particular area.
WarDriving is a wireless hacking technique, by driving around looking for wireless networks (according to Pete Shipley's definition)
WarDriving is the act of searching for Wi-Fi wireless networks by a moving person, using a portable computer or PDA.
WarDriving was named after the term wardialing from the 1983 film "WarGames", which involved searching for computer systems with software that dialed numbers sequentially to see which ones were connected to a fax machine or computer.
This tutorial video will generally cover the practice of discovering and mapping the wireless networks available in a particular area.
Useful statistics are gathered from this activity, including statistics on the encryption used in discovered networks.
WarDriving does not include the unethical activity of unauthorised connection to wifi networks (encrypted or unencrypted).
